Vanessa Mdee, a Tanzanian musician, has received a handbag worth more than Sh500,000 from her fiancé, American-Nigerian artist Olurotimi Akinosho, also known professionally as Rotimi.

The Moyo hitmaker expressed her delight at the gift in a video that captured the time she was handed a black Dior bag. Vanessa stated that the elegant handbag was what she desired.

"I am not a big bag or brand lady; if it looks good, it looks good." Quality trumps hype, and comfort trumps fashion. While watching The Crown a few months ago (December), I noticed the beauty of Princess Diana. 'Babe... now that's a bag,' I said. Fast forward to yesterday, and he surprises me with this, he recalled - to me, it's the thought that counts, as well as the constant attention and surprises. "May God bless this man," she prayed.

A little research found that the Dior handbag sells for more than Sh500,000.

Vanessa and Rotimi have never been afraid to publicly proclaim their feelings for one another, even uploading it on their paid website 'For the Better.'

The celebrity couple welcomed their second child, Imani Enioluwa Akinosho, last month after announcing they were expecting a baby girl.

According to the In My Bed hitmaker on The Pivot Podcast, he chose Vanessa because African women are renowned for being subservient to their spouses.

He also stated that African ladies know just how to treat their guys.

"When you have an African woman, you get a woman who is cautious about our understanding of how to treat a man and be submissive," he explained.

Rotimi married the Niroge hitmaker in 2020, and the pair welcomed their first child, Seven Adeoluwa Akinosho, a year later.
